Legendary Television Personalities just announced on their Myspace that they will support 2008's addictive revelation MGMT in Oxford and Norwich.
Oh well, I guess there is not any recognized law or hierarchy in rock music and it's probably for the best.
The weirdest order, I think, that would be Arctic Monkeys supporting Television Personalities. In 2006 the British press suspected Dan Treacy of TV Personalities to stand behind the teenage band (the two bands signed with Domino at the same time).
This theory was published in the Guardian and became a rumour when other newspapers found into that delirium an easy way to explain Arctic Monkey's revolutionary success story and their song writing that reminded TVP . At that time, it was still hard to believe that Myspace and spotty teenagers were satisfactory to create a buzz AND good songs.
In March 2006, Treacy just went off jail after being arrested and "vitrually killed" on the internet. This is what he said to Metro UK in March 2006 about that band, where he was suspected to be the dictator, whisperer, marabou... "I don't know about that… but they do seem to play a lot of their stuff at the Domino offices."
He was probably just their dealer.

En 2006 la presse britannique suspectait Dan Treacy des TV Personalities de se tenir derrière le groupe (les deux formations signaient chez Domino à la même période). Cette théorie était publiée dans The Guardian et devint une rumeur quand d'autres journaux trouvèrent en ce délire une explication plausible pour expliquer le succès révolutionnaire des Monkeys et leur écriture apparemment marquée TVP.
En ces temps lointains, il était toujours dur de croire que Myspace et des ados boutonneux suffisaient à créer un buzz et de bonnes chansons de surcroît.
En Mars 2006, Treacy sortait à peine de prison après son arrestation pour vol à l'étalage. Pendant son enfermement, la toile ne l'épargna pas et le dit mort. De retour parmi les presque vivants, voici ce qu'il disait à Metro UK au sujet de ce groupe dont il aurait été le gourou, le manipulateur, marabout. "Je ne sais rien de tout cela… Mais ils semblent jouer beaucoup de leurs trucs dans les bureaux de Domino".
